Vintage Radios: Radio Rentals 66

Size (approx):

33cm x 25cm x 17cm (w,h,d)

Power: AC Mains 200/250V
Wavebands: LW (1000 to 2000m). MW (200 to 550m)
Controls: Left knob on/off/volume,  middle switch wave change, and right knob for  tuning.
Design: Nice brown (wood grain) plastic case with painted cream trim highlights - without a straight edge anywhere.  Large cream and black woven plastic speaker grill is the dominant feature.  Cream tuning scale is easy to read with show-through station windows.
Date: Estimate around 1951/2
Manufacturer: Radio Rentals, "This receiver is the property of Radio Rentals Ltd and must not be sold".
Comments: Unlike the earlier heavily built Radio Rental models, fashion must have been of greater concern than ruggedness. The two back panel fixing screws also secure the whole chassis - making removal very easy, you don't even have to take the knobs off.
Line up: ECH?2, EF41, EL41, EBC41, EZ40 Mullard in place.
