Domestic Advertisements: Champion Tourist Portable Radio

This trader advert from April 1950 highlights the Champion Tourist portable radio along with the rest of the range.  Not the prettiest of radios but the Venus (globe-shaped) radio was a classic innovation of its time.  The Skymaster was the mains capable version of identical appearance. 

A 4 Valve, 2 waveband Superhet Receiver with internal frame aerial.  Size 10" x 7" x 6", weight only 3 lbs. Complete with batteries. Beautifully finished in the new airplane cloth.
