|Hey, we all boil
eggs! Who could blame Hawkins for wanting to take such a common task
in the kitchen, and make it easier. Whilst we have special appliances
for boiling water, toasting bread, the humble boiled egg has been
ignored for far too long. Taken from a product launch of
June 1950. Hit or Miss, you tell me?
The Hawkins Boilette,
comprising a Pyrex tumbler and a 460W element with a chrome cover, will boil small
quantities of liquid in under two minutes and is therefore ideal for
beverages, egg boiling, etc. It is entirely finished in chrome and
its price, complete with flex and tumbler, is 19s 6d.
